"Before life gets started — we need the quiet time to think and reflect before the crazy starts."— Lin, Morning Musings
Morning Musings
I usually try to get up early so Lily and I can get a walk in our beautiful community before the day really starts. We need the quiet time to think and reflect before the crazy starts. This morning was special because there was still the full Wolf Moon about to set and the sun just coming up on the East side. What a spectacular way to visually see the beginning and end of life and know there is no end no matter how hard we try to make a story make sense. Life will keep going in its own way in a simple line, in its own beauty forever if we just let it go.
Hello, I'm Lin — a multidisciplinary artist based in Naples, Florida, whose work spans painting, sculpture, glass art, beadwork, and conservation photography. Art has been a lifelong passion and guiding force, shaping both my creative voice and my connection to the world around me.
My journey began with a paintbrush, where I first discovered the power of color and form to convey emotions and tell stories. Over the years I broadened into sculpture, thinking in three dimensions, and then into the magical world of flameworking — where the captivating dance of fire and glass unfolds before your very eyes.
Glass beads fascinate me: molten colorful glass transformed into exquisite handmade works, each one a tiny masterpiece woven with imagination. I also create stained glass windows, acrylic pour paintings, cement and glass sculpture, and functional art pieces you can actually use at the table.
Conservation photography holds a deeply meaningful place in my practice. Through my lens, I seek to capture the beauty of the natural world — especially here in Southwest Florida — and highlight the urgent need for its preservation. I believe art can be a powerful vehicle for advocacy.
I'm a very average middle-aged lady artist interested in almost everything and involved in too much. I am exploring what we see and feel every day — the world is not broken; we are just not listening to each other. Life is so much better when it contains lots of art.
